How is this calculated?

NPS has two components — employee contribution (eligible for 80C) and employer contribution (eligible for 80CCD(2), up to 10% of basic salary). At retirement, minimum 40% must be used to buy an annuity (pension), and the remaining can be withdrawn as a lump sum (tax-free up to 60%).
